Trash is beautiful

I've been doing this observation thing for almost two months now. At first I didn't know what to blog about because of limited resources, but for some reason I stumbled upon this trash dump outside my house. I didn't know that you could make a blog about trash. I know few about it before, but now I gained more knowledge and learned the importance of trash. I didn't know if this would be my last blog, but we'll see.

I've seen a lot of ridiculous and peculiar trash that had been thrown in these particular trash dump like mattress, doors, and other stuffs. There were maybe some more peculiar things than those inside the trash, but I don't have that much dedication to jump into the trash dump. These things had one thing in common: useless. They had been used and had no longer use. Thrown out with other useless stuffs into the trash dump. They are waiting for someone to take them and throw them with the other trash who had been thrown into the void. How about those lost trashes? Those trashes that had been thrown to the ground by an apathetic owner. How about them? How are they going to go back?

Our population have been growing since we've been here. According to the UN, they estimated that in 2050 there would be about 9.1 billion people in the world. More people equals more pollution equals more diseases. Trash is one of the contributors of the pollution in the world. An average American produce as much as 4 pounds of garbage a day. For one day that isn't that much, but if you horde all your garbage for a week you'll understand how much it is. America contributes about one-third of the world's garbage. Ten percent of the them are thrown into the ocean that affects the marine lives. For now what we can do is do the triple R's: Recycle, Reuse, and Reduce. It only takes one person to resolve our problems. We can't waste this planet because this is the only planet we have. For more information about recycling go to this page: http://www.wm.com/thinkgreen/what-can-i-recycle.jsp.

For some people trash is trash: worn out, useless, dirty, and old. This is true; trash is trash, but trash is also beautiful. Trash made more conservative our nature. It doesn't mean that it is trash it is useless. For this past months I've never expected to know these things. I think this project wasn't just about observing; it was also about appreciating what we have. I guess it is still not too late to start moving and save the world for the future generations. I became to realize that I'm not only saving my life; I'm saving our lives.
